Q: Where are Bad Back Chairs based?
A: We are based near Wetherby but supply nationally. In fact, more than 50% of our business is in the South East.
Q: Do you have a showroom?
A: Our factory in the Midlands has a showroom which can be visited by appointment, but we do not have a showroom in Wetherby any more, just through lack of use. More and more of our chairs have video demonstrations and we have a try before you buy scheme on our best selling chairs. These are marked in the category sections of the website. If in doubt, please call and we can advise if a trial is available on a specific chair.
Q: Can we open an account?
A: Yes, you can open a company/organisation account. Simply fill in the Application form and post or email it back to us.

A: Of course! We supply from one chair upwards, anywhere on the UK Mainland. Delivery to the Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and Eire is possible. There is a surcharge on delivery. Please call for details.

Q: What forms of payment can you take?
A: We take BACS, Visa Debit and Visa Credit Cards, Mastercard, Paypal or Cheque. American Express is possible through Paypal payment

A: We can take it through the Paypal payments system via the online checkout but not for verbal orders over the phone. If in any doubt please call and we can advise you.
Q: You mention a smaller seat option in the product demonstration videos, what size is this?
A: Our standard seat size is usually 47cm front to back. The smaller seat size is 42cm front to back. To know if you need the smaller seat, take the measurement while seated from the back of your bottom to the back of your knee. If the measurement is less than 50cm, you need the smaller seat.
Q: What is a gas stem?
A: The gas stem is the rod that joins the underside of the seat to the base, the part with wheels on. The stem adjusts the maximum and minimum sitting heights. There are different sized gas stems available for each chair. The standard seat height adjustment, dependent on model is approx. 490-600Hmm mm from the top of the sear to the floor. Please see the full specification for exact seat height adjustments per model. Gas stems are available to allow you to sit higher or lower than this. Please call for details and to discuss your requirements.
Q: I want to be able to put my feet on the floor, I’ve only got short legs. What can I do?
A: Assuming you can’t change your desk height, the height you should sit at is determined by the comfortable height you sit at relative to your desk so you do not put strain on your neck and shoulders. If this means you cannot get your feet on the floor, you need to use a footrest. If your desk can be lowered or is at a low height, a shorter gas stem is available. Please call for details.
Q: Can the chairs come fully assembled?
A: Usually the chairs are delivered part assembled as this reduces freight costs and helps ensure chairs are delivered undamaged. Certain parts of the country have deliveries on our own vehicles and fully assembled delivery is possible – there may be a small additional delivery charge for this service. Please call us to check if your area can receive fully assembled chairs.
Q: How easy are the chairs to put together? Do I need any tools?
A: Most chairs come part assembled and the remaining assembly is simply slotting the parts together, no screwdriver or alum key needed. If an alum key is required, this is supplied with the chair and all chairs come with full instructions.
Q: Can we have a delivery at a weekend?
A: Saturday delivery is possible. We are charged a higher rate by the carriers so there is a surcharge for this service. Please call for details.
Q: Where are the chairs manufactured?
A: Our best sellers are UK manufactured. Some of the brands like Varier are imported from Scandinavia. If you would like to know where a specific chair is made, please ask.
Q: There are a lot of very expensive chairs out in the market. Do I have to spend £500+ to get a good quality chair?
A: No. We believe you don’t have to spend that kind of money to get a good multi-adjustable chair to help your back and posture. With over 20 years experience of finding sources of supply, importing from the Far East and Italy, we have found the best, most consistent quality in the UK. This also means that the specifications are much more flexible and you don’t have to simply accept the specification and colour of an imported chair.
Q: Your chairs are much lower priced than some of the Branded chairs like the RH Logic chair. Are they as good?
A: Our chairs have the same functions as the leading branded chairs & all come with a 5-year warranty. Unlike branded chairs, ours are own-branded and manufactured in volume rather than imported under a Brand Name in small quantities, usually sold at full RRP. As we buy in volume and can discount, this is reflected in the chair prices. If you are unsure of our equivalent chair to the branded models, please call to discuss and we can advise you.
Q: What guarantees come with the chairs?
A: On most chairs there is a 5 year component warranty, 2 years for the upholstery. Problems rarely arise with the chairs. If a component breaks, like a castor, and can be simply replaced this can be posted out to you. Otherwise, depending on the problem, the chair will either be repaired on site or collected for return to the factory, repair and return to you. There is no charge to you for anything covered under warranty.
Q: What fabrics are available as standard?
A: Once you are in a specific chair’s specification information, below the main picture there is a tab called “Fabrics”. If you click on that, there are a standard set of fabric ranges. There is also a leather option. This is expensive, but it is a top-grade Italian leather which is very supple and a beautiful finish. We offer a far wider range of fabrics. If you are looking for something specific or a particular colour not seen in the standard ranges, please let us know and we can post you out a selection of fabric swatch cards.
Q: I need to match up to existing chair fabric or want some other colour/fabric options.
A: We can match to existing fabric if you can give us the name/colour and manufacturer details. We can then advise the chair prices in this fabric. There is a massive range of fabric types and colours available. We couldn’t put them all on the website as there are too many. If you are looking for something specific or need some advice, please call and we’ll help you to find what you are looking for.
Q: Who manufactures the fabrics?
A: Most fabrics are made by Camira, based in Huddersfield. To see their full range, click on the link below:

Q: Do you offer a sale or return service?
A: Not as such. We offer a trial service on the chairs to help make sure they are correct for you or the person using them and also will supply fabric swatches on request. If the chair is faulty then it will be either repaired on site or at the factory. Chairs are usually made to order so cannot be returned if the colour is not what you expected. This does not affect your statutory rights.
